Locating the right property

This could take a long time and along the way you could find yourself being very excited or frustrated.

Remember to stay calm and relaxed and take time to do your homework. Locating the right property

  • Important things to consider:
    • Locality
    • Type of construction e.g. Brick, Weatherboard
    • Number of bedrooms
    • L/U garage - carport
    • Land size
    • Price
  • Compare properties, speak to Real Estate Agents.  It is essential that you know your price limit and you have budgeted for legal costs and stamp duty fees.
Once you think you have found the right property make sure you inspect it more than once.  If you don't you could easily miss on some important details.
  • Location.
Buyers are always going to be attracted to good areas and the obvious benefits of living in these areas.
    What makes a good location:
    • Proximity to shops/public transport/schools
    • Low traffic noise
    • Safety (e.g. not next door to a chemical factory)
    • Views
    • Street appeal (trees/neighbours looking after their houses)
  • The two most important things to remember when buying a home:

    • The property meets short and long term needs
    • Will the property attract future buyers?
