Perhaps the price of your dream home in a particular area might be out of your reach.  Consider compromising on features and look at the potential to extend onto a lower priced home in an excellent location.

• Submitting an offer.
  Act quickly if the property has not been on the market long.  After having seen a number of properties you will have a good idea if the asking price is reasonable.  Generally, if the property is listed by a professional agent and you are not dealing direct with an owner, the asking price will reflect market values.
• When you finally select the property you like have a building and pest inspection carried out on the property.
• Choose a solicitor to handle the conveyancing on the property.
• Make sure you understand all the details of the contract prior to signing.
• Once contracts have been signed make sure you have organised insurance.
